Featuring the garden of Yves Saint Laurent

This special Moroccan garden tour offers a unique selection of 21st-century, mostly private gardens, designed by some of our best-known designers including award-winning, British designer Tom Stuart-Smith’s creation, Le Jardin Secret in the heart of Marrakech. A highlight of the tour will be a day comprised of all things Yves Saint Laurent, including the new YSL museum, Jardin Majorelle, and a private view of the adjacent Villa Oasis where Yves Saint Laurent lived while in Marrakech. In a picture-book setting with views of the High Atlas Mountains, wonderful climate and cuisine,

and great shopping, visitors will discover a warm and friendly city steeped in history. We stay at the outstanding hotel Jnane Tamsna, an oasis of tranquil luxury, owned by Dr Gary Martin and his wife Meryanne Loum-Martin.

Tour Lecturers

Kirsty Fergusson

Kirsty exchanged a career in academia (she has a PhD specialising in French philosopher-novelists) for a life in gardening. Trained at Capel Manor, she was head gardener at Mapperton in Dorset during the early nineties, where a series of fortunate encounters opened the door to garden writing. As well as writing a weekly column for The Express, for many years she was a frequent contributor to Gardens Illustrated, House and Garden, Country Life, The Times, The Telegraph and The Independent. In 2003 she moved to SW France, where she continues to explore the possibilities of her own (very forgiving) garden – when not travelling, writing or leading tours.
